On April 22, 1999, the Certificate of Appreciation was awarded by governor Roy E. Barnes to the Strategic Employment Coalition, Inc. On this same day, the Strategic Employment Coalition, Inc. held an “employer 2000 breakfast” for 150 employers at the Hyatt regency to help define the role of business and education in individual communities.

On September 25, 1996, Community Connects, Inc. created the Strategic Employment Coalition, Inc. A collaboration of business and education program was designed for businesses and educators to prepare children for the workforce of the future, held a “school-to-work / school–to-career day” at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta which drew over three thousand participants to celebrate businesses and educators working together to make a difference in young people’s lives. On this day, September 25, 1996, the governor of the state of Georgia (Zell miller) awarded a proclamation “school-to-work / school-to-career day” to the strategic employment coalition, Inc.
Community Connects, Inc. (CCI) is a training and employment agency that has been serving individuals with special needs in our community 35 plus years in the areas of vocational skills training, GED, assessments, work readiness/life skills, and employment. Our primary mission is to embrace the vision of the equal employment opportunities for individuals with special needs, job training activities, work readiness/life skills, and competitive employment.
